A litte background about Mollie.

We decided to buy a boat in August 2002. After that the trouble begun. To much boat's to less money. We looked at different ships, and finally we saw a Compis 28. The Compis was to expensive, but my wife wanted to look inside. We got a board the Compis 28 and I was thinking this is what I'm searching for.

Big cockpit, I can stand inside. We fell in love with the Compis, but it was still to expensive. The owner wanted to lower the price till 150000 SEK. For the dutch standards its not that much money. But the sails were worn out, the wood on the outside was poor, inside it needed a lots of redecoration and painting. In December that Compis was on the shore and I discovered some osmosis. The owner still wanted 150000 SEK so we decided no Compis for us.

My brother in law lives in Norway and he said "look on the internet for a Compis in Sweden, there much cheaper there" so I did that. I looked up the web and found Mollie. I called the owner and made an apointment. The owner mailed me some pictures and the first weekend in 2003 we went to Helsingborg. Mollie was beyond our expectations, The owner was also a very nice person. We bought Mollie and went back to the Netherlands. In the end of March we went back to Sweden to pickup Mollie. My father in law, my brother in law and I sailed Mollie to Kiel.

Mollie in Rċċ Harbour (left) - Close encounter with "Busewitz" on the way to Kiel (right)

The trip to Kiel wasn't what we expected. After 3 hours on the engine whe hit a rock, after 5 Hours we had zero visibility. We had thick fog. The GPS was acting strange due to the Gulfwar. Finally after several hours with 30-meters visibilty we found the lighthouse of drogden. We layed there on a bouy for 12 hours. In the middle off the night the fog disappeared. We set course to Rodvighavn, and stayed there for 4 more day's due to the fog.

After the 4 days we went to Kalvehavn and Spjodsbjerg and finally Kiel, I called a transportation company and they took Mollie from Kiel to Andijk (our home port) for 5400 SEK. Due to the fog my holiday was over so that was the cheapest solution.

Finally Mollie in the Netherlands, and we started to enjoy sailing with our own Compis 28. In the summer holiday we invited the previous owner of Mollie and we sailed a week togheter. It was nice. We had the swedish flag on Mollie and a lot off people where looking at us. My original offer was that they could use Mollie for several weeks, but our holiday's were almost at the same time.

Well, this is a short version about our Compis 28.
